I have a new love in my home: old porcelain and some embroidered sheets.
I inherited these lovely old treasures from my dear grandmother who sadly passed away in March.
These are really old pieces of original Dresden porcelain (Oscar Schlegelmilch and Lorenz Hutschenreuther) and beautiful table cloths my granny always used.
I love to have them at home now, to think of her while using them, to think of all the hands they went through, to think of our family’s history and about days passed and days to come…
There is so much soul in antiquities and so much more beauty than in all the cheap and new bought stuff.
I use one of the cups now for my afternoon tea which fills me with enormous joy and which wonderfully reminds me of my beloved “Oma”, may she rest in peace.
