Review: Corners of my home – the kitchen

This is our living-in-kitchen. We nearly spend the whole day here, from morning’s breakfast to lunch-time; from afternoon tea to dinner.

In the early mornings I often spend my quiet time praying and reading a book with a cup of tea in front of the fire-place. When kids wake up we take breakfast together sitting on the bar-chairs around the counter, planning the day and enjoying the sun coming in through the windows.

Here it’s where we learn, where we are creative, where kids play most while I am preparing food or washing dishes.

Here it’s where we learn, where we are creative, where kids play most while I am preparing food or washing dishes.

It’s also the kitchen where we take all our meals, where we often sit having a look outside to watch what’s going on and to be thankful for the beautiful nature around.
And it’s the place where we share our winter evenings now with daddy, reading books, enjoying the fire and being just together.

The kitchen is my most preferred room in the house and that’s what I always wished it to be. It is a mixture of Western and Moroccan living-style, it is a working area but also a cosy oasis and a good place to connect and to meet as a family.
Here we share our dreams and reflect our days, here we comfort and cuddle, and here we celebrate the seasons, kid’s art and the beauty of every day.
Alhamdulillah, here we get warm on cold winter days and here we cool down after a hot summer walk…

Thanks God, the kitchen really is the heart of our home!

  2. Liebe Itto,

    Katarina

  4. Assalaamu Alaykum,

How beautiful ma sha Allah. I LOVE your posts about your home and your surroundings … I LOVE all your posts ma sha Allah!

I think it’s great that the kitchen is the centre of your home. As I was growing up our kitchen was the centre of our home and I hold lots of nice memories of it. In sha Allah you’re kids will too!

  5. salam sister brooke,
yes indeed it is a big box, but usually I do not use it at all… I do not like this chemical stuff and like my food even if it is not that yellow.

  6. dear katarina and ummadam,
my closest neighbours live about 500m away, on both sides. we live in a free corner between 2 villages, but there are already new constructions nearer to us, so soon I will have closer neighbours, inchaallah.
